It’s a cold, rainy day in South Florida. We went to the grocery store, had coffee, and took the dogs for a walk.
“I always like walking in the rain, so no one can see me crying.” Charlie Chaplin
The weather was reminiscent of Portland, Oregon, where I lived for nine years. I miss the sense of community and the seasonal changes. People were more friendly, even in traffic.
There have been protests all over the country this weekend. President Trump, now in office for a week, has blocked immigration from seven countries. I hope that Congress will be able to block most of his actions.
I joined the Occupy Portland protests a few years ago. The dynamics of the people in South Florida are so different, I’m not sure I want to join the protests in West Palm Beach.
